myWorld Interactive California Middle Grades


Built in partnership with educators, CA History-Social Science myWorld Interactive, completely aligned to the California History-Social Science Standards and the 2016 California History-Social Science Framework., applies the latest research and technology to effectively engage students in social studies through civic involvement and literacy. Students will learn about their world while covering the core social studies standards. A highly flexible blend of print and digital materials maximizes student learning and classroom time.

CA History-Social Science myWorld Interactive is a research-based, student-centered instructional model with a four-part structure enhances teaching and learning. Students will interact with the content by Connecting, Investigating, Synthesizing, and Demonstrating their understanding. The instructional design balances direct instruction, small group interaction, hands-on practice, robust resources, and scaffolded reading support. The primary program goal is to ensure thorough standards mastery while also providing universal access to all students. The sequence of the content, the structure of the lessons, the blend of skill development with conceptual understanding, and the teacher support provided all help to achieve this goal.

CA History-Social Science myWorld Interactive engages students in real-world activities and practices of citizenship. Students investigate and collaborate as they explore CA History-Social Science myWorld Interactive content. The CA History-Social Science myWorld Interactive program uses an Interactive Student Worktext approach to promote active learning and supports students who are learning to read. This engaging research-based format was designed to help encourage students to interact with the textbook like never before. Students will love writing, drawing, circling, and underlining content in their own Worktexts. Students will also connect to social studies content through key literacy skills that will ultimately lead to long-term retention of skills and concepts. In addition to the print components, the digital course offers a variety of assets engaging today's digital native bringing social science content alive and making it relevant to today's elementary student.
